Ed and Kelly are pressured by Dr. Otto Fornish, Ed’s former mentor and now hated rival, to join an A-list team of scientists on a top-secret mission for the U.S. government. They travel to the remote base near the South Pole with the goal of uncovering the secrets that this legendary metropolis is rumored to hold.
Ed learns that there are others interested in this discovery: The Order of Ra. Members of this secret group have been awaiting this moment for hundreds of generations and are preparing to assemble the fabled Crystal Orb in China, unsure what will happen once the puzzle is completed.
Ed and Kelly are drawn into the effort to search the ancient city for the key that will initialize the orb and deliver it to the Assembly. What they don’t know is that Fornish’s ultimate mission is to ensure that, once assembled, the potentially powerful object ends up in American hands.
